Tiffany Behning
Tiffany has been a Charles County resident since 2017 and involved with Port Tobacco Players since 2022. She can mostly be found calling cues in the Stage Management booth but has really loved getting involved with the play reading committee and helping with the Box Office or Ushering, when she can. She wants to be a board member because she really has a passion for theatre and wants to be a part of the positive change for the theatre.
Carol Charnock
Carol has been a member of the Port Tobacco Players since 1986 and has served multiple terms on the Board of Directors. She is a charter member of the Costume Committee and has served as Vice President, Secretary, Chair of the Costumes, Properties, Membership and Encore Committees. The Board has worked hard to ensure that we present quality shows, improve our technical presentations and maintain a safe and comfortable performance space for our performers and patrons. This can only be done with a cohesive team working toward our future. There are many projects in the works that will help us continue to grow and ensure our future as the longest continually active community theater in Maryland. PTP has been family for me since I joined in 1986 and all of my “boys” have been active in many areas of PTP – from backstage support to on stage performances. PTP is an amazing community of talented and imaginative individuals and I look forward to serving you in the future in whatever capacity the membership and board feel appropriate to my skill set.
Kim Danek
Kim has been a continuous member of PTP since 2018 and has participated in the following ways in the most recent years:
2021/2022—Stage Manager, 12 Angry Jurors
2022/2023—Stage Manager, You Can’t Take It With You
2023/2024
Kim has been with PTP since her 2018 Ensemble role in A Christmas Carol in Washington. While she enjoyed it, she is much more comfortable behind the curtain than in front of it. She thrives on organization and processes. She has stage managed two shows and one award-winning one act play. She has produced or co-produced a play, two musicals and two one acts along with other minor work. She is currently on the By Laws committee. She loves PTP and wants to branch out by bringing her organizational skills to a board position. We do well with the creative side of things. She’d like to see PTP improve our business side of the house. She’d like to work with the Board as they update our policies and procedures to improve our business processes.
Tara Waters
Tara would appreciate your vote for her to return to the Board of Directors after taking a year off. While on the BOD for the six years prior, she was Membership Chair, Properties Chair, and Productions Chair. She also served as Vice President and then President for three years. During her tenure, Tara was responsible for many of the moving pieces for adjusting our production schedule post-pandemic, as well as communicating with our directors and producers as those changes were made. She also headed the committee responsible for modifying our play reading guidelines, worked closely with our fundraising committee, and was on several other committees as needed. Having had so many duties and responsibilities on the board during some of our
most chaotic and unpredictable time as a theater company has prepared her for anything you can throw at her in the next three years, and she welcomes the challenge. She looks forward to continuing to assist the theater in any capacity needed to introduce community theater to new audiences, using her organizational skills to keep behind the scenes schedules running smoothly, and helping to keep the theater a positive and productive environment for our production teams and actors. In between board duties, Tara has also found time to be involved in at least two productions a season as either an actor or director! You may have seen her recently as Doralee in 9-5 the Musical, or perhaps her work creating the 75th Anniversary Celebration as co-director. She will also be directing our 2025 summer musical, Bye Bye, Birdie. She is a mother of four amazing boys and is a (more than!) full time homemaker.
