2007 - 2008
SEASON SHOWS
"Death of a Salesman" (Sept. 28 - Oct.14, 2007)
By Arthur Miller
DRAMA: Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman is considered by many to be both the playwright's masterpiece and a cornerstone of contemporary American drama. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Death of a Salesman has become one of the most performed and adapted plays in American theatrical history. Through his main character, Willy Loman, Miller examines the myth of the American Dream and the shallow promise of happiness through material wealth. He uses Willy as an example of how undivided faith in such a dream can often yield tragic results, especially when it goes largely unfulfilled.
Produced by Carol Charnock Directed by Darren Longley
"1940's Radio Hour" and The Encore Kids "North Pole Exposure"
(Nov. 23 - Dec. 9, 2007)MUSICAL COMEDY; Family Christmas Show: The spirit of a bygone era is evoked in this show with music by various composers. The world was at war and pop music meant "The Chattanooga Choo-Choo" and the "Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy." This is a look at behind the scenes radio as you view a live, Christmas time broadcast of a musical variety hour from the Hotel Astor's Algonquin Room on December 21, 1942; The Mutual Manhattan Variety cavalcade. An exhilarating hour of singing, dancing and funny commercials.

(Feb. 15 - March 2, 2008)
Music by Leonard Berstein, Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by Arthur Laurents, Based on a concept by Jerome Robbins
MUSICAL: The world's greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical. West Side Story is loosely based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and set in the urban streets and allys of 1950's New York City. The ethnic and cultural differences of rival street gangs traps two star-crossed lovers between warring factions. Tony, former leader of the Jets, and Maria, the sister of Bernardo, current leader of the Sharks, fall in love after meeting at a community dance, but the rivalry between the Sharks and the Jets threatens to consume them both. memorable songs include "Maria, "I feel Pretty" and "Somewhere."
Produced by Keith Linville Directed by Lisa Kay Morton. Music Direction by Mitchell Morton
"Hotbed Hotel"
(April 4 - 20, 2008)COMEDY: Terry and Brian Cody are hoping to sell their "One Star Hotel" in the Florida Keys to the only man who has expressed any interest in buying it. Unfortunately they have so few guests, they're afraid he will see at once that the hotel is a bad investment. In order to bolster his interest, they devise a ploy to make the hotel appear busier and more prosperous than it actually is by having their staff masquerade as paying guests, but their plan has one hitch. Their entire staff consists of a bibulous maintenance man and a sexy, scatterbrained housemaid who can't seem to remain completely clothed, leading to a "hotbed" of intrigue culminating in a show-stopping coup-de-theater. A hilarious comedy that will leave Fawlty Towers looking like a tragedy.
Produced by Karyn Peterson Directed by Michael Gahan
"Noises Off" (May 30 - June 15, 2008)
COMEDY: The cast of Noises Off is rehearsing a Broadway-bound play called Nothing On. Watching them do so gives us an outrageously funny look at the love, lies, and deceit that take place behind the scenes. Just when this ridiculously inept and chaotic cast finally gets their performances right, everything starts to go wrong! A joyous reminder that the theater really does go on, even when the shows falls apart
Produced by Kathy Mead Directed by Randy Tusing.
